Privacy Policy

1. About Hisabkiya

Hisabkiya (“we”, “us”) is a personal income and expense tracker available at www.hisabkiya.in. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and where it is kept.

2. Information we receive when you sign in

Hisabkiya only offers Google Sign-In. When you sign in, Google shares with us:

• your name
• your email address
• your Google profile picture

We use these only to show who is signed in and to keep you signed in on your devices.

3. Where your financial data is stored

Everything you enter (transactions, categories, budget and settings) is saved in one file named income_expense_tracker_data.json in your own Google Drive. You can see this file in your Drive like any other file.

We do not keep your financial data on our servers, and we do not run a database of users’ financial information. A copy is also kept in your browser so the app opens quickly and works offline; signing out removes it from that device.

4. Google permissions we request

• drive.file: lets Hisabkiya create and update the one file it makes in your Drive. It cannot open, read or change any of your other Drive files.
• openid, email and profile: let us show your name, email and picture in the app.

Hisabkiya’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. What we do not collect

• bank account, card or UPI details, or any payment credentials
• your location or contacts
• your browsing activity on other websites
• anything from your Google account beyond what is listed in section 2

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information or financial data with anyone. We do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

7. Cookies and local storage

• Sign-in cookie: one encrypted cookie keeps you signed in. It holds a Google sign-in (refresh) token plus your name, email and picture, and is used only to get short-lived access to your Drive file. A second short-lived cookie protects the sign-in step and is deleted straight after.
• Local storage: your browser keeps a copy of your data and your theme choice so the app works offline and remembers dark mode.

We use no tracking cookies, analytics or advertising tools.

8. Keeping your data, and deleting it

Your data stays in your Google Drive for as long as you keep it there. You are in control:

• delete income_expense_tracker_data.json from your Google Drive to erase all your Hisabkiya data
• sign out in the app to clear the copy on that device
• remove Hisabkiya’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions

9. Security

The app is served only over HTTPS. Your sign-in cookie is encrypted and cannot be read by scripts on the page, and the app’s Drive access is limited to its own file. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Children

Hisabkiya is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Hisabkiya after a change, the updated policy applies.
